handles of beer!
This is a friendly country tavern, with great bar food, espresso coffee, pool table, darts, gaming room, a great backyard garden bar, and a front veranda. Relax in the greenery at the picnic table in front of the Backpackers. There are plenty of outside areas for smokers to relax with their beer or food. The tavern has a real country atmosphere with great friendly staff. The tavern on the current location dates back to 1946 and the first hotel was built in 1879 by Hector McKay in what was once called Gumtown, a place full of history and character.
Coroglen Tavern is a well known music venue for some of New Zealands top artists (especially throughout the summer season) so check out the Gig Guide on their website to see what's coming up.
They are world famous for their hamburgers and meals
with a bistro type kitchen, serving good kiwi fried food, toasted sandwiches, burgers and meals.
During the summer band nights season they open early to serve breakfast for all the campers in the farm across the road. Bacon and eggs, and the All Day Breakfast are very popular! Easter to November, they do a roast dinner on Wednesday nights and on some special occasions they even dig a hole in the backyard and do a hangi, or a pig on a spit.
