GOOTmates are local people with a passion for exploring and sharing their beautiful country. Each GOOTmate brings their own speciality (hiking, fishing, diving, music etc.) and unique style to a trip. They know lots about the places they take trips to and the brave ones will suggest trips to places they have never been before. All the GOOTmates are our friends. Rest assured they are not just random individuals, they are people we like, people we trust and people we know you will enjoy hanging out with.

GOOTmates all have their own GOOTmate Facebook page which you can find in the links section. This way you can 'Like' a particular GOOTmate to keep up to date with their upcoming trips.

To get an idea of who the GOOTmates are:

GOOTmate Joe - One of the founders of GOOT, Joe also came up with the idea for GOOTmate so he is pretty passionate about it. He is into active fun adventures and particularly likes trips with a slightly mad element. Joe enjoys multi day hiking, climbing mountains, offroad running, snowboarding, sandboarding, and night missions (always take a headlight on his trips).

GOOTmate Hiroki - Hiroki is a crazy Japanese man who holds many GOOT records for a variety of weird and wonderful feats. He loves any type of adventure but particularly things that have never been done before. Hiroki is into hiking, climbing and exploring. It is likely that he will get you lost but it is guaranteed you will have a good time doing it.

GOOTmate Kate - Kate is wonderful. She is a real people person with a heart of gold. She loves exploring wild places and sharing these experiences with people. Kate enjoys a good stomp (her word for hiking) and a good yarn (conversation) around the camp fire. She is known as the southern GOOT girl as she lives down south and knows it well.

GOOTmate Kermath - Kermath is a funky funny man who loves music and photography. He has a show on BFM (the University of Auckland radio station) and takes wicked photos. If you want to get out and about and see some cool New Zealand gigs or venture further a field to some of the big music festivals then Kermath is the man top go with.

GOOTmate Vix - Vix is an adventurous soul, who is as happy underwater as she is on land. She loves exploring new places and sharing her passion for diving, surfing and yoga with like minded people. Vix knows a lot about our world and has a cheeky sense of humor. Combine this with a love of trying new things and adventures with her are guaranteed to be interesting and entertaining
