Kaituna Cascades offer a range of rafting options in the Rotorua area and GOOT Passport holders get 10% OFF their trips.

Of the variety of trips they run we recommend the Kaituna river. It is a fast rollercoaster ride down a narrow gorge complete with a number of big drops including a seven metre waterfall (the highest commercially rafter waterfall in the world). Be prepared for some awesome Grade Five action.

These guys have been paddling this stretch of water for years (they founded commercial rafting on this river) and run fun, safe trips. GOOT have been down the river with Kaituna Cascades numerous times before and have never been disappointed.

Be brave and go for it - you won't regret it.

Rafting at Kaituna was awesome; there are some nice waterfalls there. Most people I went with preferred this location to the other places they went rafting. I regret not flipping over. The water's great.

So cool! Rafting down the highest commercially rafted waterfall in NZ is definitely a sweet experience. The rapids were also fun and the guides were very entertaining. Get over your fears and do this - it's so worth it!

 1. Favorite experience

This was my favorite experience of my whole time abroad! I loved the adventure of falling off the waterfall and then flipping over. It was physically challenging, as well as mentally.
